1:1 Energy Weaving
Reiki is a Japanese healing modality that Mikao Usui established in Japan in the early twentieth century. The name is pronounced ray-key.
Rei= universal (spirit/power/essence) & Ki= life force energy.
The energy is also referred to as Chi' in China, and 'prana' in India. This energy is believed to circulate through all living things and is essential to health of mind, body and spirit. Reiki can be applied to encourage overall balance and just like my teachings of the ancient Ayurvedic knowledge, if given the time and space the body holds the power to self heal. Reiki is an excellent modality for creating the environment for the body to choose to return to balance and allow healing to take place. This can be in the form of pain alleviation, relief from other disease-related symptoms, stress reduction, relaxation, mental clarity, boosting a sense of serenity in those who are dying, as well as general wellbeing for plants, animals, and humans alike.
Although Reiki is the foundation of the session my abilities are also a weaving spirit-led energy work and a channeled reading. Every session is unique to the client and for their highest good. The first hour is energy work, the foundation being Reiki which creates the most optimal environment for healing to take place. Here I may then be guided to use other modalities to support the body in clearing, shifting and re-harmonising as well as holding space for the body to let go of what’s no longer serving you.
The second half (1hr) is for us to debrief your experience and I can then pass on any received messages from spiritual guides or loved ones o for your soul that’s relevant to you at this point in your life. My sessions are always confidential, respectful, and non-judgmental.
What is required of you
You have the easiest job of all; all you have to do during the session is lye comfortably with your eyes closed. You are not required to breathe in any specific way, to think about anything, or to remain completely still. If you need to reposition your body or itch, that is entirely OK. It is also fine to nod off to sleep, you are 100% still receiving Reiki. Heat, tingling, coolness and visual colours are all possible sensations you may experience. It's also fine if you don't feel anything during your session, there is no right or wrong; you are still recieving all the benefits from the treatment, and at the very least will come away feeling relaxed.
It is not a requirement but if you would like, think of any intentions you want to bring to the session.
Comforts & Self Care
Please dress comfortably in loose clothing and bring anything that will keep you warm and cosy, such as warm socks, special rug. I do have a weighted blanket and pillows for extra support if need be, just let me know before commencing the session. It’s also important to make sure you've had something light but grounding to eat and drink and if able, try to avoid having caffeine at least 3hrs before our session.
I provide my sessions in person as well as virtually. If we meet in person in my studio, I extend a warm welcome to you and we start with a relaxed meet and greet. When ready, you lie down on my treatment table and receive a 60-minute reiki/energy healing session. We debrief after on how you are feeling and discuss your experience, and I then go through any messages that may have come through. I'll be hovering or placing my hands flat over various parts of your body as I work my way down from your crown to the soles of your feet. Tell me if you are at all uncomfortable with direct touch, especially if it's on your lower abdomen or upper chest.
Zoom is used to host virtual sessions. You will recieve a link via booking email, which you follow at the time of your appointment. We check in and introduce ourselves before starting the call. Once you're in a comfortable space somewhere in your home, I will start my music playlist and you receive the 60-minute reiki/energy healing treatment . I will then gently guide you back and once you are feeling grounded in the space we talk about our experiences and I go over any messages that may have come through. It is important my clients understand that should any messages come through for you, please know that Spirit will only ever pass on what you can handle and is needed for your highest and good.
The Space
After a session, most people state that they feel lovely and at the very least relaxed. Although after any form of bodywork, as the energy moves through your system, occasionally you may feel a little lethargic or exhausted, the odd headache. Make sure you have time to recover and staying hydrated is a must. A few days may pass before the energy properly shifts so take it easy. It’s also so important to connect with Mother Earth whenever possible, this could be bare foot but the real gem is laying down on your belly and establishing a closer connection with nature and really tune into the sense of the earth, the grounding. Nourishing foods are also just as important and with my Ayurvedic background, I suggest warming foods with gentle spices to help aid in easy digestion. A staple for me when having given or recieved energy work in a dish called Kitchari. If you are interested in some wholesome Ayurvedic foods to prep before your session to enjoy after, please let me know and I would love to share them with you. I look forward to holding space for you when our paths cross.
Thank you,
Hannah
